A day worth
taking off work for

01

Keynotes that stay with you

Speakers with something actual to say about where technology is going. Not inspiration, but the kind of talk you're still thinking about two weeks later.

02

Honest conversations

Panels and workshops where people talk about work as it actually is. The uncomfortable questions get airtime here.

03

Your new favourite people

1000+ people from across Finnish tech in one place. Bring questions. The hallway conversations are half the point.

Forum 2026 brings together tech professionals, leaders, and emerging talent to look at what's on the horizon: AI, cybersecurity, sustainability tech, data sovereignty, and the future of work and leadership.

Through keynotes, panels, focus sessions, and conversation, we'll explore the opportunities and challenges ahead, creating space for knowledge sharing, honest exchange, and new connections across the community.

The morning looks at where tech is heading. The afternoon zooms in on what it means for our work, careers, and how we lead.

Morning Deep Dives & Networking
Deep dive
Challenging assumptions, expanding horizons
Facilitated by Eeva Andrejeff, Senior Designer, Knowit, and Sanna Tallberg, Business Unit Director, Knowit.
Hosted by Knowit
What assumptions are shaping the future of tech? And who gets to challenge them? In this collaborative workshop, we'll explore the questions our industry should discuss more honestly, challenge familiar ways of thinking, and uncover opportunities for meaningful change together. Together, we'll create space for courageous conversations, fresh perspectives and new possibilities for the future.
Deep dive
Inclusive AI & Design — Case: Flow Festival
Facilitated by Petra Tarkkala, Head of Design, Tieto Tech Consulting, and Vilja Grotenfelt, Sales and Marketing Director, Flow Festival.
Hosted by Tieto
How can we ensure AI serves as many people as possible fairly and inclusively? And how do we design digital and physical experiences that are accessible and usable for everyone? In this session, we'll explore the principles of inclusive AI and human-centred design through a practical case example from Flow Festival. Learn how inclusivity is being considered across both digital services and the on-site festival experience, and join us in shaping future ideas.
Deep dive Virtual
AI's uneven impact: Bursting the AI bubble
Facilitated by Samad Masood, Content Strategy Lead and Head of Europe, Infosys.
Hosted by Infosys
Nearly 70% of employees use AI daily today, and they feel positive about doing so. According to large scale research carried out by Infosys, 72% of employees feel excited or optimistic, and just 2% expect their role to disappear due to AI. But AI's effectiveness as a tool is not evenly spread across an organisation. Senior leaders live in an “AI bubble,” with more tools, more training, and higher trust, that distorts their view of adoption below them. Middle managers get the worst of the deal: weakest access, least training, fewest incentives, yet they're the linchpin between AI experimentation and enterprise scale. Bursting this bubble is imperative to ensure AI truly achieves transformational benefits for employees, employers and customers.

Impact Radius: When Speed Outruns Judgment
Shay Strong, VP of Analytics, ICEYE

Shay has a career spanning wildly different timescales and stakes: detecting cosmic events that already happened, from a PhD in astrophysics; monitoring disasters as they unfold from orbit, in satellite analytics; and now, building on-prem systems for tactical defense decisions made in seconds.

In this keynote, she argues that the “ship it, iterate, fail fast” instincts that built the last decade of tech are becoming dangerous — not because the industry got careless, but because two forces are compounding: more of what gets built now carries real, high-stakes consequences, while AI-assisted development tools have made it easier than ever to generate and ship without the friction that used to force people to stop and think.

The talk introduces “impact radius,” a practical way to name how far a decision's consequences travel, and explores why the line between exploratory “vibe-coding” and critical production deployment isn't always obvious to engineering teams — which is exactly where these failures start. It offers a framework for matching review and care to phase and radius rather than to how fast something was produced, with takeaways for any team navigating the gap between how fast they can now move and how much that speed should actually be trusted.

Panel
The Next Tech Frontier: What Will Actually Matter?
Panellists Jarmo Sareva, Ambassador for Creative Industries, Finnish Ministry for Foreign Affairs, and Mona Dash, Head of Sales, EMEA, AI and Automation, Infosys

AI and automation are already changing how companies build products, create content and make decisions. But technological capability alone does not determine what gets adopted at scale. Regulation, geopolitics, investment and viable business models increasingly shape which innovations take off, and which remain promising ideas.

This cross-sector panel will look beyond the hype to examine what is actually likely to matter over the next few years. Bringing together perspectives from technology, business, policy and the creative industries, the discussion will explore what turns technological breakthroughs into change worth having.

Rather than trying to predict the next big thing, the discussion looks at the forces that determine whether technology actually creates meaningful impact, and focus on the signals worth paying attention to:

  • What technologies or developments are we underestimating — and what are we overestimating?
  • What determines whether a technological breakthrough actually changes industries and society, particularly as technology moves into areas like creativity that we have traditionally considered distinctly human?
  • As technology becomes increasingly tied to geopolitics, security and sovereignty, where can Finland and Europe genuinely lead?
  • What developments should you be paying attention to over the next 2–5 years?

Panel
FOBO and Technostress: Performance Under Constant Change
Moderated by Joey Bayer, Head of International Community, Epicenter; panellists Elina Ojala, COO, Knowit, and Mari Laukkanen, Principal Director, Accenture

Fear of becoming obsolete is starting to influence how people learn, make decisions and behave at work, particularly in environments where automation and AI are advancing quickly. That acceleration creates real opportunities, but it also brings cognitive overload, uncertainty and pressure to keep adapting.

The panel will examine the practical organizational consequences: the cost of sustained mental overload, the retention risks created by persistent disruption, and how psychological safety and organizational design affect innovation, productivity and long-term performance.

The aim is to move beyond a general "future of work" conversation and get into what leaders can actually do:

  • How do you create room for experimentation without exhausting people?
  • How do you build adaptability without making employees feel permanently replaceable?
  • When does the pressure to move faster begin to undermine the performance it is supposed to improve?

Answers, ahead of time

Why does my ticket need approval?

Registrations are reviewed manually before confirmation. We do this to keep a balanced room across career stages and to verify WiT community membership for free tickets. Places are allocated first-come, first-served within each category, so it's worth registering early. You'll get an email once your spot is confirmed.

What's the waitlist policy?

When a category fills up, you will automatically join the waitlist. Spots open up when someone cancels, and we assign them by random draw from everyone on the waitlist — not by who joined first. So it's always worth adding your name, even later on: your chances don't depend on being early in the queue.

How much are tickets?

The Forum is free for WiT community members. Members receive an email with a code to redeem for a free ticket. Non-member tickets are €49 with lunch or €39 without.

Not a member yet? Join for free at womenintech.fi.

How do I cancel my ticket?

If you cannot attend, please cancel as soon as possible or by October 3, 2026 at the latest to avoid food waste and allow someone else to take your place.

On Lu.ma you can cancel in two ways:

  • Or go straight to the event page, click "No longer able to attend? Notify the host by canceling your registration" and confirm.
I joined the community after I already bought my ticket, what do I do?

Members attend free, so let us know here if you'd like your ticket price refunded and still keep your place at the Forum. Let us know by 3 October.

Tickets are personal and can't be transferred or resold. If you can't come, please cancel so we can offer your place to someone on the waitlist.

If we cancel or move the event, you get the full ticket price back.
