SSAB has produced the world’s first fossil-free steel as a proof of concept using HYBRIT® technology. The revolutionary steelmaking technology using hydrogen reduced sponge iron, removes the primary source of CO2 emissions with water as by-product, instead of CO2. Since then, a number of pilot deliveries have been made to selected partners in different industries. The steel has the same high quality and properties as traditional steel, but less impact on the planet.

SSAB is building a new electric steel plant in Luleå – a key part of our long-term transition to fossil-free and more competitive steel production.

We want to tell the story of SSAB’s transformation from traditional steel to fossil-free, innovative industry leader. We want to generate our long-term recruitment pipeline, and it will be great opportunity to be networking with ~500 tech professionals.
